This edition contains important information about our retained membership of the European cooperation for Accreditation (EA), shares insight from our customers in the forms of case studies and guest blogs, and introduces you to new initiatives and tools developed by UKAS.

UKAS’s membership of the European cooperation for Accreditation confirmed

At the end of last year, following agreement at its General Assembly, the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA) published revised Articles of Association and Rules of Procedure in the culmination of months of discussion regarding EA membership criteria. These agreed revisions allow UKAS to retain its membership status, previously at risk following the UK's exit from the EU. Find out more about these changes here.

Celebrating women in accreditation for International Women's Day 2022

​​​​​On International Women's Day, UKAS's Accreditation Director, Lorraine Turner, spoke to female leaders about what it is to be a woman working in their sector with an eye on quality and a responsibility for maintaining accreditation in 2022. Read the full article here.

 
UKAS symbols of accreditation
​​​​​​UKAS has published additional guidance for customers, which aims to reduce incidences of improvement actions being raised at assessment due to unintentional misuse of the UKAS symbols of accreditation. Read more here.

UKAS's Readiness Assessment Tool
​​​​​​UKAS has developed a free tool for organisations considering accreditation to ISO/IEC 17025. This online assessment, taking approximately 30 minutes to complete, helps establish how ready you are to proceed with accreditation. Read more here.

 
MoU signed between UKAS & Saudi Accreditation Center
On March 16th, Matt Gantley and Dr Adel Alkeaid (SAAC Executive Director) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise the relationship between the two national Accreditation Bodies. Read more here.
