Welcome to the latest edition of UPDATE, the United Kingdom Accreditation Service's newsletter.

This edition contains information about what the UK's sole accreditation body has been doing in the last quarter, including the exciting launch of our new UKAS CertCheck database, World Accreditation Day and our continuing efforts to support the government as they work towards challenging net zero targets.

There is also the opportunity to register for our popular free webinar series, which aims to explain more about the value and purpose of accreditation and the journey that organisations go on when they embark on accreditation.

The launch of UKAS CertCheck

In June UKAS was extremely pleased to launch CertCheck, our free-to-use online database of UKAS accredited certification for management systems. The purpose of UKAS CertCheck is to provide quick and simple assurance that a user's supplier holds the valid and current certification that they claim to, helping to ensure a robust supply chain. Sustainable accreditation championed at the House of Lords

UKAS returned to our flagship summer event for stakeholders at the House of Lords in June. We were lucky enough to be joined by UKAS Chair Lord Lindsay, who spoke along with BEIS Minister, Paul Scully MP. We were also honoured to welcome Baroness Brown of Cambridge DBE to give our keynote address. Read more here.

 
Sheffield Children's Hospital 1st to new IQIPS standard

​​​​​​The audiology team at Sheffield Children's Hospital were the first service to transition to the new 2020 IQIPS standard. You can hear what Head of Hearing services, Suzanne Carrick had to say of their achievement here.


 
1st accreditations under Compost Certification Scheme
In another first, UKAS has now awarded the first accreditations under Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd (REAL)'s Compost Certification Scheme. You can read more about the three certification bodies granted accreditation here.

A full return to live events

Training calendar
UKAS Training Academy continues to support our accreditation work with public, on-site and virtual training, international advisory services and eLearning. Much of the training is now CPD certified and our Net Promoter Score remains very high. You can see upcoming courses here.

 
eLearning
UKAS is pleased to announce the launch of a new suite of eLearning modules, providing learners with access to a range of courses. This allows delegates to enhance their knowledge of a number of topics whenever and wherever they like to do their learning. Find out more here.

 
World Accreditation Day 2022
UKAS was once again happy to participate in this year's World Accreditation Day, supporting activity undertaken by ILAC and IAF with a focus on the role played by accreditation in sustainability in economic growth and the environment. Read more here.
