"A Study Center has become a necessity because that is the place where the treasure isâthe treasure. From that treasure you can draw. You can draw your strength, you can draw your energy, you can draw your sustenance, nourishment, and so on⦠here is something that is sacredâletâs call it so for the momentâand from that everything flows."
The Krishnamurti Centers worldwide serve as places where people interested in exploring the deepest questions of existence and the nature of human consciousness can gather, explore, and inquire together.
As we shared last year, the KFA received a generous donation of a large estate in Northern California to develop a new Krishnamurti Center.
The property, situated in the hills of Sonoma County, CA, features a grand terraced garden and an equally impressive residence with a vaulted main hall. The main hall is the central focus of the building and was purpose-built to showcase a renowned collection of carpets and art amassed by James Lee (Jim) Dixon, the benefactor of the estate.
Jim wished for his estate to live on as a place of study and contemplationâa place where people could visit and appreciate the beauty of the gardens and explore meditation and the nature of consciousness. It was his feeling that the KFA would be the best suited to receive this gift and carry out this wish.
To support the development and maintenance of this new center, the majority of the art collection has been transferred to Bonhams-Skinner to sell in a series of auctions beginning this April. For those interested in viewing the art and participating in the auction(s), click here. Proceeds from these sales will benefit the KFA, specifically the new Krishnamurti Center in Sonoma County.
We look forward to updating you as we move closer to opening the doors to this new Krishnamurti Center.
