The Saints returned to the practice field Wednesday in preparation for their game against the Minnesota Vikings Sunday in Minneapolis.

Comedy black and gold

I've wanted to write this story for years, and I was finally able to put it all together this week. It's a fun one about a cherished Saints' tradition that has become the highlight of the players' work week. My feature column on the Captains Corner and how Khalen Saunders became its star.

Maintaining the status quo

You might have noticed that Andrus Peat started at left tackle last week instead of James Hurst, after he returned to the lineup from an injury. Matt Paras tells us why the Saints kept the veteran lineman there instead of going back to Hurst.

Sidelined rooks

Two members of the Saints rookie class missed Wednesday's practice. Luke Johnson has the full injury report on the walking wounded.

On the mend

Not all the injury news was bad. One Saints starter is nearing his return from the injured reserve list. Luke Johnson has the story on the possible return to action of Adam Prentice.

Honorable mention

The NFL honored a Saints defender with its NFC Defensive Player of the Week award.

Heading elsewhere

For the second consecutive week, the Saints saw one of their linebackers on the practice squad sign with another team.
