With the ageing population and the rise of non-communicable diseases, the need is increasing rapidly. Assistive products are essential for people with disabilities, older persons and people living with chronic conditions, but everyone will at some point in their life need assistive technology. And yet, equitable access remains a significant challenge and vast gaps exist between countries.
