Updates to the Perinatal HIV Clinical Guidelines

The Panel on Treatment of HIV During Pregnancy and Prevention of Perinatal Transmission has updated the Recommendations for the Use of Antiretroviral Drugs During Pregnancy and Interventions to Reduce Perinatal HIV Transmission in the United States. Updates include those to reflect new data and publications and to incorporate gender-inclusive language.

• Antiretroviral Therapy for People with HIV Who Are Trying to Conceive

• Pregnant People Who Have Not Achieved Viral Suppression on Antiretroviral Therapy

In addition to these updates, the shared sections with the Panel on Antiretroviral Therapy and Medical Management of Children Living with HIV—Diagnosis of HIV Infection in Infants and Children, Infant Feeding for Individuals with HIV in the United States, and Antiretroviral Management of Newborns with Perinatal HIV Exposure or HIV Infection—are being revised.  It is anticipated these sections will be published in April 2024.
