On May 25, 2018, a new European Union (EU) data protection law, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) takes effect. The GDPR gives individuals in the EU more control over how their data is used and places certain obligations on businesses that process information of those individuals.

In preparation for GDPR we have updated our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. We value your privacy and want you to understand the choices you have relating to your personal information and your inbox.

Because we do not paywall our news, and provide it as a free service, advertising is a critical means to support our business. Our journalism is funded through web ads, newsletter sponsorship, sponsored content, and standalone emails. We value your privacy and want to provide an excellent reader experience. As a part of this effort, we would like to give you the option to review your subscription and opt-out of any emails that you do not want to receive.
