JetBlue posts 2Q net loss of $120 million; trims capacity, cost structure

US LCC JetBlue Airways, working to offset rising fuel costs and stagnating RASM, will trim fourth-quarter capacity and plans a series of ancillary revenue adjustments in the weeks ahead to help strengthen its bottom line, CEO Robin Hayes said.


US airlines to change how they refer to Taiwan

Four US international airlines are reportedly about to change how they refer to Taiwan. American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines and United Airlines reportedly have decided to make the change after close coordination with the US State Department.

European airlines lodge formal complaint over French ATC strikes

UK LCC easyJet, International Airlines Group (IAG), Irish LCC Ryanair and Central and Eastern European LCC Wizz Air have formally complained to the European Commission, arguing that frequent French air traffic control (ATC) strikes are restricting freedom of movement within the European Union (EU).


NTSB to hold hearing on CFM56-7 series engine failure Nov. 14

The US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will hold an investigative hearing Nov. 14 focused on the CFM International engine model involved an inflight engine failure earlier this year on a Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-700.
