$82m in US Full Tilt Repayments “Weeks Away”

30,000 undisputed claims have been approved by the US Department of Justice.

The US Department of Justice has approved the repayment of $82 million dollars back to ex-US players of Full Tilt Poker.

Garden City Group (GCG), the Claims Administrator leading the repayment process, is now in charge of taking the next step: distributing these funds back to players.

One in Twenty Still Face Geo-Location Issues in New Jersey

95% success rate still leaves a lot of customers locked out.

Although improvements have been made to geolocation accuracy since it launched in the New Jersey regulated market in November, still one in twenty attempts to verify a player’s location is failing.

“Once you discard from the pool of ineligible players (ie they are outside of NJ), we are seeing about a 95% success rate,” said Anna Sainsbury, CEO of GeoComply, in an interview with OnlinePokerReport published earlier this week.

UK Internet Service Providers Reject Gambling Commission Requests

ISPs rejected requests to insert pop up warnings when UK customers access overseas gambling sites.

At a meeting with the UK Gambling Commission last week, UK internet service providers (ISP) rejected requests that they insert warning pages when customers access non-UK based gambling sites.

“We do not believe that it is for ISPs to decide what content customers should access,” explained a spokesman for Talk Talk, one of the UK’s largest ISPs.

PokerStars to Use Same Hotel for EPT Barcelona 2014

Players staying at the hotel in 2013 suffered "sharking" attacks on laptops stolen from their rooms.

PokerStars has confirmed that the 2014 EPT Barcelona will continue to use the Hotel Arts, Barcelona in spite of security issues that surfaced last year.

During the 2013 EPT Barcelona players reported that while staying at the hotel, their laptops were taken and trojan software installed.

Lesniak Bill to Accept Foreign Wagers Reintroduced in New Jersey

Permits to offer internet gaming to interstate and international customers limited to New Jersey operators.

Updated 1/17/14 to represent the most recent version of the bill

New Jersey State Senator Ray Lesniak has amended and reintroduced a bill to the State assembly that would allow the licensing of operators to provide internet wagering “to persons located outside of New Jersey or the United States.”
