Hong Kong Airport sets traffic and cargo records

Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) boosted its passenger total by 4.5% to 73.6 million in its fiscal year ending March 31, 2018, according to its annual report. HKIA also increased flight movements by 3.2% to 423,390, and cargo volume was up by 7.6% to 5.1 million tonnes.

Star Alliance continues to open branded lounges in key markets where no member carriers have a main hub. The global airline alliance opened its seventh branded lounge at Rome Fiumicino airport this week.


Turkish Airlines installing in-house-produced wireless IFE system

Turkish Airlines is introducing an in-house produced in-flight entertainment (IFE) system, which will be initially installed on the airline’s 44 narrowbody aircraft, the airline said June 27.
