US-UAE Open Skies terms confirmed, including fifth freedom rights

All sides are claiming a “win” in the US agreement with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on their Open Skies aviation agreement, but the agreement stays fully intact and the document drawn up by the two governments indicates US carriers American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines have achieved very little in their three-year campaign to clip the wings of the major Gulf carriers.


Asiana Airlines A330 wing slices tail off Turkish Airlines A321

An investigation has begun after an Asiana Airlines Airbus A330-300’s wing collided with the tail of a Turkish Airlines A321 while taxiing at Istanbul Airport on May 13, causing substantial damage to the parked aircraft. The airport’s fire service attended the scene, but no injuries were reported.
