USAID drama threatens Louisiana rice

From ports in Houston and New Orleans, Louisiana-grown rice is shipped across the globe to places like Haiti, Iraq and Ukraine.

That could all be updended if the Trump administration's efforts to dismantle USAID are successful. 

In Louisiana, which is the second-largest rice grower in the U.S., farmers would not only lose revenue from any moves to stop the programs. But it would also harm the market since the industry would be overstocked.
