USC initiative recruiting professionals to rural classrooms

Transition to Teaching is a one-year graduate program for professionals with a degree in an area other than education who want to teach. The initiative is being rolled out in Colleton and Orangeburg counties.

SBA disaster loans may be available in as soon as 2 weeks

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s district director estimates that federal economic injury disaster loans may become available within two weeks to a month for businesses affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

Construction employment increases in 32 states in January

Construction jobs were added in 32 states in January 2020 compared to both December 2019 and January 2019, according to an analysis of federal data. South Carolina added 2,800 jobs in the 12-month period.

Able SC offering online skills program

Free classes open to all S.C. students with disabilities will cover topics such as time management and managing stress while state schools are closed. Registration is required.
