USC medical school expands addiction treatment program

USC medical student takes blood pressure of a woman at a pop-up clinic in Nicholtown.An idea born out of a lunch-and-learn session led to substance use disorder treatment curriculum at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville. Now, Faces and Voices of Recovery Greenville and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration are joining forces with the school as opioid overdoses climb across the state.

Six school district reopening plans receive approval

S.C. Superintendent of Education Molly Spearman approved the six plans on Monday. The S.C. Department of Education also instituted a face mask requirement for students and staff on state-owned school buses.
