USC to offer saliva-based COVID-19 testing

The SAFE test, developed by researchers in the university’s College of Pharmacy and available to students, faculty and staff, identifies the virus’ genetic material. Results are typically available within 24 hours, according to the school.

Hire Me SC to hold virtual employment summit

Hire Me SC will be rolling out its annual employer summit online Oct. 7 from 9:30 a.m. to noon to help link employers to resources on building a workforce open to candidates with disabilities. Colonial Life CEO Tim Arnold will be the keynote speaker. 

USDA invests $37M in rural S.C. energy projects

Roughly $37 million in USDA funding will be used by 12 rural companies and farms including Cherokee County’s new Mohea Solar Energy Center to install renewable energy systems or make improvements to cut utility costs.
