Economists and Federal Reserve officials are growing increasingly concerned about the US labor market, which saw job openings rise to 8.14 million in May from 7.92 in April. "Any change in the outlook for the labor market could have significant implications for the direction of the economy and monetary policy," said Rubeela Farooqi, chief US economist at High Frequency Economics.

Putting heartfelt personal language regarding disability inclusion in job postings and adding testimonials from disabled employees on the company website can improve the recruitment of people who have disabilities, write researchers Mason Ameri and Terri R. Kurtzberg, who tested job advertisements, websites and interviewing techniques. "Our studies show that emphasizing their hard skills for the job (such as proficiencies with specific technologies) during the interview process can help a disabled candidate, as can delaying the conversation about accommodation needs until after some rapport has been built," they write.

Larger companies -- defined by having more than 500 employees -- are more likely to use AI in their HR departments than their smaller brethren, according to a survey of 1,100 decision-makers by Deel. HR decision-makers under 35 were most enthusiastic about AI, with more than 80% expecting positive developments in the next five years.
