It has created immense uncertainty, with students bouncing between in-person and remote learning. It has been incredibly hard on teachers, administrators, parents and students. Many events have been cancelled, sports events are unpredictable. Some of life's milestones, like graduations, proms and big games, will never be experienced. I admit that having knee surgery recently has made me pretty focused on how to restore and heal my aging body! U named innovation and economic prosperity university The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) awarded the University of Utah the Innovation and Economic Prosperity designation, which recognizes universities that promote growth, innovation and economic development in their regions. This designation will enhance our efforts in these areas." Updates added to the Utah state of emergency & public health order Additional updates were added Thursday to Gov. Gary Herbert's State of Emergency and the Public Health order to provide additional clarification. The revised order clarifies that: 1. Physical child custody exchanges, court ordered parent time, and at-home child care services (including nannies and babysitters) are permitted; 2. Business services provided at a place of residence (e.g., house cleaning, plumbing) are permitted; and 3.
