Policy News Curtis: I have faith in America's election systemToday, Congressman John Curtis (R-UT) released the following statement ahead of the process to certify the Electoral College results:  United Utah Party launches petition for Sen. Lee to certify electionThe United Utah Party has launched a petition calling on Senator Mike Lee to vote to certify President-elect Joe Biden's victory in the Electoral College. "On Wednesday, eleven Republican senators will vote to disregard the will of the people as expressed through a free and fair election," said Hillary Stirling, United Utah Party Chair. "The people of Utah need to know that Senator Lee will not join this anti-democratic movement but will instead uphold those democratic principles that have made our republic enduring and strong." Utah Tourism Industry Association welcomes new executive director The Utah Tourism Industry Association (UTIA) announced the appointment of Natalie Randall as its new executive director. Randall will assume her new role January 19, 2021.UTIA is the umbrella organization and advocate for Utah's visitor economy. UTIA works hand in hand with the Utah Office of Tourism, county destination marketing organizations, Ski Utah, and other industry organizations as well as guides, outfitters, restaurants, attractions and lodging properties around the state. Cox, Henderson sign first executive order In their first official action, Gov. Spencer Cox and Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson signed an executive order dealing with occupational licenses in front of the historic Territorial Statehouse in Fillmore. Executive Order 2021-01 requires state agencies to review all occupational licenses to ensure they are truly necessary and are not outdated or incomplete. The review orders these agency reviews must be completed by June 30. 2021.  SL Chamber congratulates Cox, Henderson on their inaugurationDerek Miller, president and CEO of the Salt Lake Chamber and Downtown Alliance, congratulated Spencer Cox and Deidre Henderson upon their inauguration today as Utah's new Governor and Lt.
