Also, can the Saints make the playoffs?
By Bob Warren Vaccines and omicron: COVID is in the news today. (Like it ever left the news, right?) In Baton Rouge, a group of legislators plans to meet in an attempt to overthrow Gov. John Bel Edwards’ plan to add the COVID vaccination to the list of mandated vaccines for public school students. Meanwhile, we’re all keeping an eye out for signs of the new omicron varient, and trying to figure out what it will mean for us. An omicron case has been detected among those found in passengers on a cruise ship that returned to New Orleans over the weekend. Valet shot: A valet at the Ace Hotel in downtown New Orleans was fatally shot over the weekend. As our Ramon Vargas and Gabriella Killett reported late Sunday, the shooting apparently followed an argument during which both people drew guns. Holiday light show: It’s LUNA Fête time again. The annual light show, started in 2013, is, as our Doug MacCash describes it, “a mashup of Celebration in the Oaks and The Matrix.” Last year it was spread around several locations to keep the crowds smaller. It’s back Dec. 16-19 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center Pedestrian Park, off Convention Center Boulevard near the river. So you're telling me there's a chance: And finally, the Saints have lost five straight. Ouch! But as Amie Just reports today, all hope is not lost on a shot at making the playoffs. Hope you enjoyed the Lunch Line. Thanks for taking a break with us today. BW |
