Vale Australian tenor Steve Davislim, who has died aged 57.
Davislim's career began as a principal ensemble member of the Zurich Opera. He performed with some of the most prestigious opera companies and orchestras around the world, including State Opera Berlin, State Opera Hamburg and the Met.
In 2023 he made his return to Australia in the title role for Opera Victoria's production of Idomeneo, as well as performing as Loge in Sydney Symphony Orchestra's concert performance of Das Rheingold.
In memory of Davislim, we've re-released Margaret Throsby's 2001 interview with him, featuring music from Richard Strauss to Rodgers and Hammerstein, performed by Davislim.
