NDUS CIO addresses Blackboard issues In an email sent recently to all presidents of institutions in the North Dakota University System, Darin King, NDUS chief information officer, acknowledged and addressed the issues encountered in Blackboard as NDUS moves to establish it as the universal learning management system for all institutions.
According to King, “We have been working through the first full semester of heavy usage in the new environment and have experienced occasional performance issues, including a serious disruption to services on Friday, September 22. We continue to work with Blackboard at both the technical and executive level to remediate issues as they arise….”
King notes that Bill Ballhaus, Blackboard CEO, has reaffirmed the firm’s commitment to the North Dakota University System in a letter shared with NDUS and leadership teams at system campuses.
King closes his email with the following message to campus users: “Please accept my sincere apology for the disruptions that you may have experienced related to the implementation of Blackboard. We will continue to refine our processes and strive to deliver the best possible experience for all users across the North Dakota University System.” Viking Hall of Fame Banquet is Oct. 13 Valley City State University will induct two teams and six individuals into the Viking Athletic Hall of Fame during Homecoming Weekend.
