The VCSU Hotline! online newsletter is published every week during the school year. Deadline to submit articles (photos encouraged) is 3 p.m. the Friday before publication. Faculty/Staff Giving Campaign: We need your help! Our office is working hard to wrap up the Faculty/Staff Giving Campaign for this year. The campaign is very important. When we are out soliciting support for our scholarship program, we are often asked what percentage of our faculty and staff support the campaign. It is a fair question.
We have committed to provide a total of $1.723 million in scholarship support for the current academic year. Needless to say, this is a tall order. We can't do it alone. We need your help!
Please stop by the Foundation Office today and make your pledge. You have until June 30, 2020, to make payment on that pledge. There is no minimum requirement. Help us secure another record-breaking enrollment at VCSU! VCSU and VCPS seeking donations for ‘Operation; End Hunger’ Valley City State University is partnering with the Valley City High School junior class to collect donations for “Operation; End Hunger,” Oct. 29 - Nov. 14.
This annual event is organized by Valley City Public Schools and each year grades 7-12 compete to fill a truck with nonperishable and monetary donations, which are then donated to the Barnes County Food Pantry.
VCSU students, staff, and faculty are invited to donate items at designated drop-off locations around campus. Students will also be asked to bring a donation item for admission to the Halloween Dance this week.
The junior class goal is 1,500 items with an overall school goal of 4,000 items to be donated to the food pantry. Bremer named to Boys and Girls Club board Abigail Bremer, assistant professor in the School of Education and Graduate Studies, has accepted a board membership position with the Boys and Girls Club of the Red River Valley.
The Boys and Girls Club of the Red River Valley is a private, nonprofit corporation serving the Fargo/Moorhead area, operating before and after school childcare programs that create a climate of warmth and acceptance for every youth.
Bremer’s scholarship, focusing on assessment methods that engage culturally and linguistically diverse students in the classroom, lends to her policy and consultation work as a Boys and Girls Club board member.
