Coronavirus COVID-19 information and campus communications log

Important information for the VCSU community regarding the coronavirus illness (COVID-19) can be found at www.vcsu.edu/news/coronavirus-covid-19-information.

Here can be found general information about symptoms and preventing the spread of the illness, along with a log of campus communications that have gone out to students, faculty and staff. The page is updated frequently.

Splettstoesser receives ‘Difference Maker’ award

Dina Splettstoesser recently received the “Difference Maker Award.” She was nominated by Allen Memorial Library staff.

Her nomination read, “Dina is part of the crew at Facilities Services, and she keeps our building sparkling clean. Dina always brings a positive, friendly attitude and she is fun to have working in our building. We so appreciate all she does for us, and we want her to know it.”

Viking sports update

Softball
March 9: VCSU 5, Aquinas College 4; Olivet Nazarene 4, VCSU 3
The VCSU softball team posted a 3-3 record its spring trip to Tucson, Ariz.

Baseball
March 11: William Penn 5, VCSU 0; VCSU 7, Bemidji State 2
March 14: VCSU 11, William Penn 10 (10 innings)
March 15: Mayville State 9, VCSU 3
The Viking baseball team has posted a 2-2 record on its spring trip in Tucson, Ariz. VCSU’s Thursday game against Gustavus Adolphus was suspended in the third inning due to rain with Gustavus leading 5-4. Friday’s game was canceled due to rain/field conditions in Tucson.

NAIA cancels spring sports
The NAIA announced its decision to cancel the 2020 spring sports season Monday, March 16, effective immediately.
