  1. The local sharemarket is expected to open flat after Wednesday's sell-off, with NAB and Woolworths results set to be announced.

  3. Delta Electricity has slammed a pending deal by the NSW government to throw a lifeline to Origin Energy's rival coal power station Eraring, saying it amounts to financial reward for mismanagement of the facility.
  4. Australian enterprise software giant Atlassian has unveiled an advanced artificial intelligence product which it says will turbocharge efficiency for its more than 300,000 customers and differentiate itself from Microsoft and Google in the AI race. 
  5. Activist hedge fund Elliott Management has boosted its stake in Anglo American to 2.35 per cent after the London-based mining major’s rejection of BHP’s $40.5bn all-share takeover offer.
