F. King Alexander goes on the radio

Kissel | Metro editorTRAGEDY: Video from the end of Monday's low-speed chase in southern Mississippi, in which officers pursued a man suspected of killing two people in Baker, shows that more than 20 shots were fired in an altercation that killed Eric Derell Smith and his 4-month-old son. Paul Cobler has details here. ON THE RADIO: Former LSU president F. King Alexander was on the radio this morning to talk about his tenure and the controversies that popped up while he was here and after he left. He told radio host Jim Engster about past efforts to diversity the campus while the state was mandating major budget cuts. Alexander was recently forced out at Oregon State over his allegations he mishandled sexual harassment complaints during his time in Baton Rouge. HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT: And Baton Rouge area high schools this week are launching an effort to vaccinate students age 16 and up. Vaccines will be made available beginning Friday.
