The Sunday Round-Up | May 2, 2021 Happy Sunday! I hope you had a great week and are having a relaxing weekend. I had a watershed week; I flew on a plane for the first time in 432 days. In case you're new here (thanks for subscribing!), I flew up to Sonoma on Avelo Airlines for their inaugural flight. It was definitely the right flight after having some 're-entry anxiety.' Now that I'm fully vaccinated, it felt safer to fly. A lot of friends were on the flight and I knew they were vaccinated, too. I even heard strangers asking their seatmates if they've been vaxxed. (BTW: Finding a vaccine just got very easy!) The travel itch is definitely back and I'm back to spending hours researching flights, accommodations and car rentals for potential future trips. I say 'potential' because we're not out of this nightmare yet, even though at times it feels like it. I'm concerned about exposing my kids to the variants; I've read tips from epidemiologists and heard from friends in the medical industry that they're now seeing a lot more cases in children and younger people overall. Where To Find Up To Date Information On Entry Requirements For those who are traveling, I received the question below this morning on Twitter. Since it’s one I get often, I thought I would answer it in a post because it’s important. “Johnny, asking what are the best places to find out what country Covid entrance requirements are. A few I checked are giving me different info. Thanks.” Here's my reply: Hi Terrell, I’m sure your head is spinning like mine and every person who is planning a spring/summer trip. These days, it’s almost impossible to keep up with all the different entrance rules and regulations. For example, just a few days ago, after their recent COVID-19 surge, Thailand announced they’re changing their quarantine requirements back to 14 days from a tolerable seven. So what is a traveler supposed to do when planning travel, especially if it’s international? Here's the site every international traveler needs to bookmark. Mother's Day Gift Idea: iFlex Phone and Tablet Stand Mother's Day is a week from today! My wife got this tip from a flight attendant on YouTube who says she always travels with this flexible phone and tablet stand that perfectly props up your devices but also flattens out for easy packing. Natalie uses it all the time around the house and it's perfect on a plane, too. Check it out on Amazon here. Plus, get more ideas in our 2021 Mother's Day gift guide. I keep reminding you of this because it's basically free miles and an easy way to extend your miles another 18 months in case you haven't had any activity. Tomorrow (May 3) is the last day and I've won something almost every day from 4,000 to upgrades. Here are the details. UPDATE: My Favorite Wipes To Travel With Last week, I mentioned that I'd found my favorite wipes to travel with on Amazon and they're cheap. You can get 6 boxes that each have 24 wipes inside. That's enough for a year. You can buy them here. UPDATE: A reader pointed out to me that these wipes are best for cleaning your hands but to wipe down surfaces on an airplane or in a hotel room, use something like these Clorox wipes, which come in a travel-friendly package.
