WHO Recommendation on the
Influenza Vaccine Composition for Northern Hemisphere 2023-2024
and
Zoonotic Influenza
WHAT:
From 20-23 February 2023, WHO organized a four-day consultation with an advisory group of experts, to generate the recommendations on the Composition of Influenza Virus Vaccines for Use in the 2023-2024 Northern Hemisphere Influenza Season. These recommendations are used by the national vaccine regulatory agencies and the pharmaceutical companies to develop, produce and license influenza vaccines.
On Friday, 24 February 2023, WHO will then hold a virtual Information Meeting on the recommendations for representatives and individuals from vaccine regulatory agencies, influenza vaccine manufacturers, members of the WHO Global Influenza Surveillance and Response System (GISRS), and other interested institutions. This will be followed by a Global Virtual Press Conference where the recommendation will be discussed.
