The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre and Sheikh Zayed Book Award will be joining the conversation around this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair’s theme: “Translate. Transfer. Transform”. The networking event will allow ALC to showcase the opportunities available for the publishers, translators, authors, and strategic partners, as well as create new connections.

The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre will be launching a new book series dedicated to music, as part of the series "Pioneers Among Us". The event will highlight the book collection and will include a short film about it.

Discussion with Maisoon Saqer, Sheikh Zayed Book Award 2022 Literature Award Laureate.

"Café Riche: Eye on Egypt" by Maisoon Saqer


The session will discuss the challenges and changes facing Arabic literature today: the cultural shift away from the former centres of Cairo, Damascus, and Beirut to the Gulf; the tension between literature and politics; and the role of social media versus the old coffeehouse culture.
