The chief architect of NBN Co, Tony Cross, has left the company and will finish up on Friday, 1 July. Microsoft has been around for 41 years and has more cash lying around than most, but it still retains the tight-fisted attitude that has been a part of its corporate culture from the start. Users of the Ubuntu Phone will have to get used to the fact that popular Android apps like WhatsApp are unlikely to be made available for the platform, at least not in in the short term.
