| Lego Batman's New Nemesis is Covid-19 as the Brand Launches a PSA Campaign for Kids | |
| | Ralph Fiennes might be best known these days for playing Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films (sadly I'm old enough to be an English Patient man), but even younger audiences might recognize his voice as that of Alfred in the Lego Batman movie. For a new PSA about Covid-19, aimed largely at making kids more comfortable with and aware of how to fight the pandemic, Fiennes and Will Arnett (the voice of Lego Batman and host of Lego Master) have reprised their roles, contributing their remotely recorded voices from quarantine. The spot is earnestly quite hilarious, which is a considerably rare thing when you're talking Covid-19 PSAs. But I have to admit that my favorite detail in my colleague T.L. Stanley's writeup today is this: Fiennes recorded his Alfred lines from inside a cupboard under the stairs of his Suffolk home. Voldemort. In a cupboard. Under the stairs. Congrats, Harry. You've finally truly won. And more seriously, good on Fiennes and Arnett for making time to do this project. We're told more Lego PSAs are on the way with an equally star-studded cast, so stay tuned.
