It is a common misconception that a GHIC (Global Health Insurance Card) or EHIC (European Health Insurance Card) gives you the same level of cover as travel insurance. But these only cover emergency medical treatment within Europe.
With travel insurance, you are covered should you have an accident or injury, as well as helping you to get back home. It can also help out with costs should you need to cancel your trip, lose your luggage or face travel delays. |
