Hi John, A new paid subscription news service will be announced by Apple on Monday, with The Wall Street Journal as a partner, despite the Cupertino company taking 50% of the subscription revenue as its share. A subscription is expected to cost US$10 per month.
Security firm Kaspersky Lab has lodged an anti-trust complaint against Apple with the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service protesting the App Store policy that has resulted in it being forced to remove its Kaspersky Safe Kids for iOS app from the store. Norwegian browser maker Opera Software has added a built-in no-log VPN service to its latest version for Android, Opera 51, the company says in a statement. Norwegian aluminium maker Norsk Hydro says it has made some progress restoring its systems back to normal after being hit by Windows ransomware known as LockerGoGa on Monday evening. Global expenditure on security-related hardware, software and services will reach US$103 billion (A$144.5 billion) this year, a rise of 9.4% since 2017, the analyst firm IDC says, adding that growth at a similar pace is expected over the next several years.
