Lenovo IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 review: almost a budget Copilot+ PC

'The Lenovo IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 has an OLED display mated with great battery life'

The recently launched Lenovo IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 features the new Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus 8-core processor and is designed as an AI-enabled convertible laptop. The midrange machine excels in performance and battery life, according to a hands-on review by Digital Trends, while the OLED display is noted for its bright colors and inky blacks.

A weak point, however, is a touchpad that “doesn’t stand out compared to much better haptic touchpads on MacBooks and the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14.” The Lenovo IdeaPad 5x 2-in-1 officially starts at $850, but $700 deals are possible, a price that makes it much easier to recommend ...

Tesla Powerwall is the best solar, home backup, and EV charging companion

Solar power, and having solar panels on your home, is a fantastic way to conserve energy and cut down on power bills, but when the grid goes down you still lose power because of how it’s connected. Essentially, your power setup doesn’t offer much benefit there, unless you get a home power backup system like a Tesla Powerwall. With a Tesla Powerwall, the power stays on even during a major blackout or outage because it is a compact home battery that stores energy generated from the grid. That energy is then used as a backup when traditional grid power is unavailable ...

The Oppo Find X8 Pro is my new favorite phone camera

'It delivers an exceptional experience that I recommend to anyone who wants a well-balanced flagship smartphone'

A hands-on review by Digital Trends of the Oppo Find X8 Pro lauds it for its excellent camera with outstanding zoom capabilities, fantastic display, and decent battery life. But while photos from the camera are mostly  outstanding, it’s worth noting that Oppo’s processing can be a bit hit-and-miss, a weakness that you're most likely to notice when you take a bunch of photos together.

The new Oppo Find X8 Pro is currently only available in the U.K., Australia, India, and Indonesia, so if you're in the U.S. or elsewhere then you'll have to get creative if you want to get your hands on what overall is an impressive phone ...

Apple reveals how Aardman shot its festive animation on an iPhone

Shot entirely on an iPhone 16 Pro, the animation is being projected nightly onto the side of one of London's most iconic buildings

The stop-motion specialists at Aardman Animations have collaborated with Apple on a festive film that’s being beamed nightly onto Battersea Power Station, one of London’s most iconic buildings. To shoot the project, the multi-Oscar-winning team at Aardman, known for hits such as Creature Comforts, Chicken Run, and a multitude of Wallace & Gromit adventures, used an iPhone 16 Pro.

“A stop-motion animation of this scale, to have been created on an iPhone, is absolutely mind-bending,” Gavin Strange, who directed the movie, said in a behind-the-scenes video (above) released by Apple on Sunday. Apple CEO Tim Cook shared a short clip of the final animation in a message posted on social media on Sunday ...
