Pod 2’s Deep Learning about Animals This term Pod 2 have been learning about how to communicate with and look after animals. We had a visit from Caroline, a local vet, who brought in Jack the rescue dog. Caroline told us all about how vets look after animals when they are sick.
We also had some lessons from the Animal Control team to learn about how to respect and stay safe around dogs.
Next week Wanaka Cat Rescue are coming in to tell us all about the work they do to help with the problems of feral cats.
Pod 2's Cupcake Sale We have decided to hold a cupcake sale to raise money to help animal organisations. We would like to invite all children to come along to Pod 2 on Friday 20th September (Week 9) at morning tea time. Bring a dollar and buy a cupcake/biscuit. First in first served! |

Mount Aspiring College Sports Programme This term, Pod 2 have been taking part in a sports programme led by MAC students. The children had so much fun and the Pod 2 teachers were very impressed by the great organisation and teaching skills of the MAC students. Thank you so much to MAC teacher Carol Bradley for inviting us to take part and to the students who planned and taught such great sports activities for our 5 and 6 year olds. |

Friday Night Lights - A Huge Success On behalf of the Wanaka Primary PTA committee, we would like to say a huge thank you to all our wonderful volunteers and sponsors who made Friday Night Lights possible and such a success. Although the weather looked slightly rough during the day, things cleared for a wonderful night full of bright lights and smiling children.
We had a fantastic turn out and some wonderful costumes, decorations and performances from our clever students. Overall a really neat, successful night enjoyed by all and it was great to see everyone getting in the spirit.
Thank you again to all our fantastic sponsors (listed below) and the volunteers on the evening. It was greatly appreciated! |
