(Pixabay)
Frontline employees who need to work on-site say they want more flexibility to choose the days they work -- including four-day workweeks -- and additional paid time off and vacations, according to Gallup research. "Either because it seems unrealistic in their current career path or because they simply prefer working on-site, frontline workers rate time flexibility higher than location flexibility," writes Gallup's Ryan Pendell.

What’s the best Christmas you have ever received from an employer? Do holiday gifts matter to you?

Apparently, they matter a great deal to workers today. In a recent survey by gifting provider Snappy, one-third of respondents said they would consider leaving an organization that did not give out holiday gifts to employees. So, of the 1,500 people who responded to the survey, 500 of them might look for a new job if they didn’t get a Christmas present from the boss.

Seriously?

I’ve gone most of my professional career without a gift from my manager. We usually had a team or company party, but I’ve only received gifts for a handful of years. And I’ve never considered leaving the company if I didn’t get one. I’ll leave a company if the pay is too low or there’s a toxic culture. But I’m not leaving if I don’t get a personalized coffee mug or a basket of mini muffins. I’m grateful to have a job I enjoy in an organization that I love.

What do you think? Are you among the folks who would leave if they didn’t receive a gift? What kind of gift would make you stay? Let me know! And if you enjoy this brief, tell others so they can benefit also.
