It’s always a pleasure to spend time over in the west and my visit last weekend to Perth was as enjoyable as all my trips are. In this case, I spent the day at the ABC Perth Open House to celebrate 100 years. Big shout out to all the visitors who booked a tour of the ABC facilities and streamed through on the day. There were families, elders, children and everyone in between. I met so many people on the day and had the best time chatting pretty much non-stop the whole time!

Costa meets the clivia king, Clarence visits a First Nations owned and run nursery, Hannah visits a shady garden defying the odds, Millie gets started with winter jobs and Sophie profiles flowers of the protea family.

Sophie profiles proteaceous plants popular in floral arrangements, including leucadendrons, banksias and proteas.

Millie gets stuck into winter jobs, planting a dormant peach tree while resisting the urge to prune evergreens which provide shelter for wildlife.
