Sample whites from France’s most famous wine region this September
You’ve heard of Bordeaux. One of France’s most iconic wine regions, the area is home to more than 8,500 châteaux and is world-renowned for its full-bodied and fruity reds. But it’s not a one-trick pony. In fact, Bordeaux produces some amazing white wines – from zippy, single-variety Sauvignon Blanc to sparkling crémants (made the same way as champers and offering great value for money) – and this September you can try them for yourself without leaving London.
From September 1-5, the Bordeaux White Wine Bar will be popping up at Flat Iron Square, giving Londoners the chance to sample the white side of Bordeaux. All wines will be available by the glass, flight or carafe, and you can pair your drink with the various cuisines on offer at the London Bridge-based street food market.
For the full Bordeaux experience though, pop down from 3.30pm each day for a free and fun speed tasting. An expert will be on hand to talk you through the various wines, giving you the chance to nod along and learn something new as your tastebuds get to grips with what the region has to offer.
