Wormtown, Table Talk collaborate on fall beer
On Wednesday, brewers at Wormtown Brewery tossed pumpkin pies from Table Talk Pies into a lauter tun to begin cooking up a fall brew. It's the second year of the informal collaboration between the two companies, according to Wormtown.
Milford bans pot shops
Milford banned recreational marijuana shops on Tuesday, with 56.3 percent of town voters opting for a complete ban of any recreational marijuana establishments. The town joins dozens of others that have either voted to ban stores, enacted temporary moratoriums or imposed zoning restrictions on marijuana stores.
Fidelity, Colonial Co-operative to merge
Leominster-based Fidelity Bank and Gardner-based Colonial Co-operative Bank will merge to create a financial institution with assets of $870 million. The agreement, announced Tuesday afternoon, has Fidelity essentially acquiring the much smaller Colonial Co-operative. According to a press release from Fidelity, the bank has assets of $800 million compared to Colonial's $70 million.
