Was Freud actually ... a feminist? JK lol. Our contributor Olivia McEwan visited a show atthe Freud Museum London that explores women — and the idea of women — in the psychoanalyst’s life and work. The curatorial name of the game, she argues in her clever review today, was to “throw feminist ideas at the wall to see what sticks.”

Meanwhile, as snow starts to blanket the northeast, Elaine Velie considers the wintry landscapes populating an Egon Schiele show in Manhattan. We’ve got more for you below, including a remembrance of Canadian artist and AIDS activist Joe Average, who passed away at 67; Marlon Mullen, the first artist with developmental disabilities to exhibit a solo show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York; and the Washington Post cartoon artist who resigned after the publication killed her sketch satirizing corporate billionaires in the pocket of Donald Trump.
