Dear friend,

As some of you may know, the Eckhart Tolle Foundation kicked off its New Earth Youth Initiative earlier this year. Its purpose is to inspire and support young people ages 18–30, especially at-risk youth. So many young people today are experiencing depression, anxiety, bullying, and a lack of care, purpose, and guidance. Offering Eckhart’s teachings to them—helping them cultivate awareness, live in the Now, observe their thoughts and emotions, and transcend the egoic mind—can have a lasting impact on their consciousness, choices, and life path.

Last month, we sponsored 38 young people (travel, meals, and housing) to attend a four-day retreat with Eckhart and Kim Eng. The majority of these young people were chosen from our partner organizations, Echoes of Hope, a nonprofit that has helped thousands of at-risk and emancipated foster youth succeed, and Inspiring Children Foundation, a nonprofit that transforms young lives through a whole-human approach to physical, social, emotional, and mental health.

These young minds were immersed in a transformative learning experience with Eckhart and Kim for four intensive days, an experience that I was honored to witness.

I got to meet these young people, and they have deeply inspired me! Many shared with me that on their own initiative, they met until the wee hours of the morning after Eckhart and Kim’s talks to discuss what they were learning with each other. They even gave Eckhart an affectionate nickname, calling him their very own Yoda.

These young people, who didn’t necessarily all know each other well before the retreat, were forming deep connections and bonds with each other, and it was beautiful to see. They were so sincere and excited in their desire to use what they were learning at the retreat in their everyday lives with their peers, families, and communities. I see them as tomorrow’s leaders, and I’m so proud of the foundation’s commitment to them. This is the kind of deep work that makes a real impact on our hurting world.
