An authentic portrait of cultural identity, I’m No Longer Here is directed by Fernando Frías de la Parra, an exciting new voice in international cinema. An unconventional immigrant story that is at once both personal and universal, the film is supported by two masters of Mexican cinema, Guillermo del Toro and Alfonso Cuarón, who recently came together to discuss its impact.

In the mountains of Monterrey, Mexico, a young street gang calling themselves “Los Terkos” spends their days listening to slowed-down cumbia and attending dance parties. After a mix-up with a local cartel, their leader is forced to flee to Queens, NY where he finds himself wanting to return home.
