There are many ways to mine Bitcoin. You can trade your physical cash for these digital dollars. Or you can mod your Game Boy.

That’s the road one YouTuber, StackSmashing, decided to take. He connected his old Game Boy to his computer, which ran a Bitcoin node. Upon connection, the gaming console ran the hashing program.

While this is an inventive workaround, it's actually 125 trillion times slower than a dedicated mining machine, The Verge reports. Then again, those machines don’t play cute nostalgic animations, so that’s one point in favor of the Game Boy. Here’s the full story of how he turned old tech into modern-day treasure!
