| Meet Monica Bharadwaj, a 2025 Festival Fellow and the development coordinator for Abara House, a peace-building center at the U.S.-Mexico border. Rooted in El Paso, Texas, Abara House is transforming four historic acres into a center for dialogue, advocacy, and community connection. A first-generation Colombian-American, Bharadwaj brings personal passion to the work of immigration justice and has helped restore the site and launch national programming. “It’s the perfect place to dialogue about immigration and transform polarization into peace,” she says.
