(1) Double Webby Award Nominee — Last week we received two prestigious Webby nominations. Our hit podcast series, The Thread, has been singled out alongside The New Yorker and VICE, while our digital video series, Unapologetic, is nominated alongside National Geographic. The Webbys recognize international excellence across the internet, meaning these series have been identified as among the five best in the world in their categories. (2) Unapologetic Season Two Launched — In a similar vein, we just released the entire second season of Unapologetic. The series features people whose lives run against societal expectations and highlights what makes them unique on their journey to self-acceptance. (3) Jana Bennett Joins as Executive-at-Large — Last, but certainly not least, I’m excited to share that we have brought on Jana Bennett, former head of BBC Television and president and GM of History Channel, as Executive-at-Large and Senior Adviser to help drive the development of more hit OZY TV shows and podcasts. We’ve seen our TV business explode in the last year. OZY has sold four television series to PBS, BBC, Amazon and Facebook — from The Contenders - 16 for ’16 to Third Rail with OZY and Breaking Big to Take On America — and we have six more series in development.
