Sharing God’s love through thoughtful communications in the spirit of St. Francis is what we do! Each Franciscan friar and coworker at Franciscan Media are called and chosen. And while our tasks vary, our mission remains singular and constant: to share God’s love.
Hi, I am Father Dan Kroger, OFM, publisher at Franciscan Media. Each summer we pause from our usual work to share personal stories and experiences and invite you to join us in our mission. You will have the opportunity to meet the people behind our award-winning products and read how we humbly walk with God. I am inspired by their stories, and I hope you are too.
By my training, I am a professional theologian, with a PhD in Christian Ethics from the University of Notre Dame. I am often the one who has to make (or help others to make) tough ethical decisions. I was assigned to Franciscan Media back in 2006 after retiring from teaching at De La Salle University in the Philippines. I’ve had to make a few difficult decisions here too.
What is unique about Franciscan Media is that we take challenging issues in our world and Church and look at them though the Franciscan lens of love, humility, and simplicity. I try to speak, not in big, long statements as I did back at the university, but in a language that everyone can understand—love. I like to say we go to the heart of the matter.

This year Franciscan Media needs to raise $80,000 by the end of October. It is a formidable goal, but I believe with your support we can reach it. Like so many organizations, we are impacted by increases in our supply and production costs. Many of our costs increased by 20% this past year alone. For example, it takes a lot of paper to print Father Murray Bodo, OFM’s new book Nourishing Love: A Franciscan Celebration of Mary! But we do it because his words help feed people hungering to experience God in their lives.
