Since its establishment in 1979, the Austrian Institute for International Affairs – oiip is an independent non-university research institute based in Vienna, Austria. Situated at the nexus between academia and policy research, our aim is to bring expertise on international politics straigth to the point and make it accessible to the public. We pursue research and provide expertise on international security politics, autocratization and de-democratization, foreign policy, EU relations, geopolitoics and multilateralism as well as regional expretise on the Western Balkans, Turkey, the MENA-region China, and the United States.
You can support our work through membership and donations (the oiip is a tax-privileged institution within the meaning of § 4a paras. 3 – 6 of the Income Tax Act (EStG) with registration number FW 1924. Therefore, donations and sponsorship contributions to oiip are tax-deductible.). We offer institutional and individual memberships. By becoming a member of the oiip or donating, you support dedicated and independent research and expertise on regions and important international issues of our time, as well as their dissemination to the Austrian and European public.
We offer:- individual memberships at € 50.- per annum
- institutional memberships at € 500.- per annum
Individual Members receive our publications, reports and our magazine first hand, have access to our members-only events and have a voice in the annual General Assembly.
Institutional Membership refers to legal entities such as companies, universities and international organizations. Apart from a a seat in the General Assembly and subscription to our publications, reports and our magazine, institutional membership grants access to exclusive expert briefings on selected topics. Additionally, institutional members have the opportunity to be listed as a cooperation partner or sponsor at one of our numerous events.
