Now Open 5 Days a Week!

As of next Tuesday, June 15th, we will be open the following hours:
Tuesday to Friday 3-9pm
Saturday 10am-2pm

No reservations will be necessary! You can just come on in and pick the tools you want!
Masks still mandatory.

If there is a special tool you want to make sure is in when you need it, you can still reserve it, but we won't pack it for you. ;) This will prevent anyone else from checking it out.

Garage Sale

Saturday, June 19th from 10am-2pm

We are trying to clear out some space at the library so we can open up our WorkSpace! This means we're having a HUGE sale. Swing by Saturday June 19th and peruse our outdoor tables and buy some new-to-you goodies!
We will also have some gorgeous hardwoods.
The sale will be outdoors in the parking lot area of 877A Boyd Avenue.

DIY Bike Maintenance is Back!

Wednesday June 30th 6pm - 9pm

Do your own bike maintenance with our extensive set of bike tools (ParkTool) at the tool library.

We have bike stands and provide basic supplies (lube, rags, etc.), but you will need to bring any replacement parts needed.

Note: chain cleaning is not available because we don't have a sink.

Our resident bike mechanic will be on hand to answer any questions you might have.

This DIY bike maintenance event will be held every last Wedn. of the month for the summer outdoors in our alley way under tents.

Registration is open for our Summer Tinkering School!

Kids 8-12 years old are invited to join us for two sessions of tinkering this summer where they'll get to learn woodworking skills and apply them to create unique, sustainable, handmade projects!

There are two weeks of camps available.

Week 1: July 12-16

9am-3pm; $295 (plus tax)

Week 2: August 9-13

9am-3pm; $295 (plus tax)

Spaces are limited in order to comply with public health guidelines, register now to reserve your place!

In light of the constraints of living through the pandemic, we recognize that many parents may find it difficult to afford camps this summer. OTL is offering a pay what you can option for one participant through our community fund. Place contact Lindsey, the Tinkering School Coordinator, for information about how to apply.

The Ottawa-Gatineau Social Innovation Fair!

Tuesday June 15th

We are delighted to announce that we will be participating in the first Ottawa-Gatineau Social Innovation Fair!

Throughout the fair, you can attend 20-minute hands-on workshops. For example: how to make a garden? Where to pick fruit for free in downtown Ottawa? How to start a collective kitchen project?

Bettina will be speaking about how to start a lending library at 12:35pm.
