Hi there,

First of all: how are you doing right now? To be honest, I’m a little overwhelmed. It’s strange that almost every piece of media I see/hear/read these days is about the same thing: coronavirus.

While you can always count on us to have the latest updates on the COVID-19 outbreak we also wanted to make it easier for you to find the practical resources and answers you’re looking for. So, today we’re inviting you to sign up for a new, weekly email called Bay Area Coronavirus Tips.

Catchy name, right?

I work in audience development at KQED, so I spend a lot of time trying to figure out what people want and how to best serve them. One thing we saw over and over again over the last few weeks is that articles like How to Apply For Unemployment and Sheltering In Place: What You Need To Know were visited thousands of times. This is all to say: you have questions about what to do next.

This is our attempt to give you a dedicated place where you can find, access, link and share practical resources and tips with your fellow Bay Area residents— things that might help us all get through this a little easier.

We’re not sure how long we’ll keep this email going— after all, we hope this outbreak is only temporary— but we promise to keep it going as long as it feels useful.

I hope you’ll sign up and join us. If you do, we’ll send our first email to you on Tuesday.

And if you have ideas about what you’d like to see in the newsletter, feel free to shoot me an email: mdiokno@kqed.org.

Hope you’re staying safe and sane,

Maria Alana Diokno
Executive Director, Brand and Audience Development
