Let us explain. Since Poetry Daily is an everyday operation, we can get lost in the weeds — our staff is so busy reading, selecting, and delivering contemporary poems to you that we sometimes forget to stop and smell the flowers.
It just occurred to us that we never told you all the wonderful things we accomplished in 2023 with your support.

✓ Shared free, daily poetry with over 560,000 people internationally;
✓ Featured 250 books from 132 small presses, and 115 poems from 82 journals;
✓ Increased our featured poems in translation, including historically underrepresented languages like Kurdish and Ojibwe
✓ Reinvigorated Poetry Alive!, our year-long therapeutic poetry workshop for incarcerated youth in the Fairfax Juvenile Detention Center, in which they learn how to leverage poetry to tell their own unique stories;
✓ Published 57 What Sparks Poetry essays, where prominent contemporary poets explore the experiences & ideas that spark the writing of new poems.
