| Hi, this is Sonya!
It was fantastic to see so many people at our Flat Out Fringe last week.
Adelaide really comes alive during the Fringe like no other place on the planet. The weather was perfect as was our venue, under the trees at the University of Adelaide Cloisters in the RCC’s Fringe hub.
From hip hop to comedy, from the traditional to the edgy, all our artists and performers were breathtaking. Don’t ask me to pick a favourite – it would be like having to pick my favourite child! To have all the ABC on-air team join the party was an added bonus.
If you couldn’t be there, check out some of the wonderful photos in our Flat Out Fringe gallery here and watch some of the highlights on Channel 44’s broadcast this Saturday night from 6.30pm. You can also enjoy some of the performances on our socials too @abcadelaide
So, many thanks if you made the effort to come out and be part of our huge Fringe showcase. If you couldn’t be there I hope you enjoyed tuning in.
Flat Out Fringe might be behind us for 2020 but there’s still plenty in store. The Adelaide Festival, including Writers Week, kicks off on Saturday. You’ll get a front row seat to a broad range of issues and authors on Monday and Tuesday as I broadcast from the Pioneer Women's Memorial Gardens, before the long weekend at WOMAD. Phew! I might need another cuppa.
Join all our programs across ABC Radio Adelaide for the wonderful ride that is Adelaide in February and March!
Love, Sonya. | | | |

Bushfires may have blackened hills, but survivors are turning to whatever silver linings they can | | According to an old adage attributed to US President Abraham Lincoln: "I laugh because I mustn't cry, that is all".
Wry humour is often used as a coping mechanism by those who have experienced devastating events.
In the Adelaide Hills, for example, James Tilbrook's winery is getting set to host weddings and open a new cellar door, despite the Cudlee Creek fire ripping through sheds and destroying stock and equipment. | | | |
